We’re happy that Carlene Carter is a contender in quite a few GRAMMY categories thanks to her Carter Girl album that was produced by Don Was and released on Rounder. She’s qualified as a possibility for Best Americana Roots performance (“Black Jack David” duet with Kris Kristofferson), Best Americana album, Best Engineered Album, Non-classical as well as for Record of the Year (“Little Black Train”) and Album of the Year.

Carlene is "very excited" to be the Special Guest on the John Mellencamp Plain Spoken 2015 North American Tour, which will include 80 shows across the U.S. and Canada!  Carlene said that it is "an honor and a privilege" and "I'm thrilled to have been chosen to share the stage with one of America's greatest songwriters. He has a strong appreciation for our Carter Family roots, and of course he and my mom (June Carter Cash) were mutual admirers, as were he and 'Big John' (Johnny Cash)."  The tour starts January 21 and runs through August 4, 2015.  Click the picture for more info.

God bless my Daddy Rip Nix
He passed on and my heart is so sad
He was an amazing Father to Rosey and me
All the memories of my childhood have him in constant presence
He gave Rosey and myself a solid security as our Daddy
Especially with momma being gone so much
He married momma in 1957 then they had Rosey in 58
From then on he loved me as his own child
every Sunday we would head to Grandma Nix's house for Sunday dinner
A lot of the time our cousin Lorrie Bennett was with us
Val and Todd our cousins always so much a part of our growing up
We played and played
I cannot find words to describe my sorrow today
RIP Daddy Rip Nix
Rose Bush was waiting to meet you in heaven I'm sure
Love Love Love
Carlene

Here comes 2014!!! Love all y'all and hope you're as excited about it as I am!
