God bless my Daddy Rip Nix
He passed on and my heart is so sad
He was an amazing Father to Rosey and me
All the memories of my childhood have him in constant presence
He gave Rosey and myself a solid security as our Daddy
Especially with momma being gone so much
He married momma in 1957 then they had Rosey in 58
From then on he loved me as his own child
every Sunday we would head to Grandma Nix's house for Sunday dinner
A lot of the time our cousin Lorrie Bennett was with us
Val and Todd our cousins always so much a part of our growing up
We played and played
I cannot find words to describe my sorrow today
RIP Daddy Rip Nix
Rose Bush was waiting to meet you in heaven I'm sure
Love Love Love

On the bench that says "Nick Ashford slept here" in Bryant Park NYC. Joe and I had an amazing trip. On to our next stop Nashville, TN to see kids, Grandkids, lots of family and celebrate the Johnny Cash stamp commemoration June 5 Ryman 10:30 am.

Had a blast today with my friend Elizabeth Cook, Tim Carroll, Buddy Miller, Jim Lauderdale, and Lisa Marie Presley. I actually didn't introduce myself to her because I was shy!! Can y'all believe that one? haha. Going to Troubadour this evening to catch Buddy and Jim or is it Jim and Buddy?

Wishing all the mothers I know Happy Mothers Day! Thinking of my momma June, my daughter Tiffany, my daughter-in-law Emily Routh, and the grandchildren they've blessed us with. All my sisters: Lori Lynn, Rosanne, Kathy, Cindy and Tara. And my girlfriends who are mothers as well: Lely, Marina, Toni, Kathy V, Ronelle, Marcy McFee, Karen Brooks, Laura Cash and the list is just so long. Have a great day sisters. xoxox

Thinking of my grandma today!!! It would have been her birthday and she would have been going to play Bingo with Peggy:-)! One of her many hobbies. On the list is bowling, fishing, card games, fussing at Grandpa and any kind of gambling! Number one though she loved to play music. She taught me all these valuable things to carry me through my life. I miss her every day since she has been gone from this Earth.

An honor and privilege to have known and worked with George Jones! Always made me smile:-)

Ohhhh so sad. He was called "little pal" by our family. Also a great friend of Daddy's. Last time I saw George and Nancy was at Cracker Barrel in Franklin, TN. He sat in a rocking chair and sang "don't need no rocking chair!" I'm checking on coming home for funeral stuff. I'm crying:-(!

That's Mike Pyle (left) and Paul Griffith (right). Great times back then with David Holt and Randy Leago. We had so much fun and played so many shows. Miss all those guys:-(!!

(Thank you very much to David Holt for sharing this photo with us!)

Happy birthday Big John
Wonderful Father to me and Rosey
Forever loved and missed
I know there's Peace in the Valley
I love you
Carlene

So sad
What can I say
Except I tried to reach out to her but she didn't respond
Beautiful lost girl
I used to be lost too
On tour with the Angels now
Just sad to lose her light in this world

Celebrating 25 years of my Carlene Carter Fan Club!!! To all the fan club folks, I Love You and thank you for everything! Every post and every thumbs up! Keeps me smiling NO Matter What!!!

(What started as a seventh anniversary ski trip to Sun Valley, Idaho for Carlene and her husband Joe Breen turned into more when she was honored with a key to the city.) Got the key!!! Had a fun time, met the Mayor and got a letter from the Governor of Idaho. Met two authors and got their books signed, Charles Brandt and Leslie J. Little, great people. Mike Pool was there, he put it all together (he's my travel agent for years!) And of course Joe was with me. Here is a picture, and it's going to be broadcast on the CBS affiliate channel!! Fun day so much we're staying through the weekend so I can perfect my bunny slope (quarter dollar) skiing.

Ryan Breen (seen here with me) is our nephew, and his band "Windy Hill" is one of the best up and coming bluegrass bands out there!! They're based out of San Francisco, via Portola Valley, CA. He plays banjo and writes songs with his partner Henry Warde. Oh by the way, he's wearing my Daddy Carl Smith's cowboy hat:)!! This boy is on fire for the bluegrass music and the traditional side of it. And he's not only related to us, he can pick that banjo like nobody's bizness! Please check out their website and Like them on Facebook!

So!!! I'm 57 years !!!:) I started saying I was a few months back so I wouldn't get weird about it:) So much to the point that when my birthday happened I thought I was 58!! Strange how we skip through our older years so gracefully. Thanks everybody for blowing out the candles with me this year! What a blast!!!:) Xoxo

Me and Elizabeth. She sings like an angel!!!

ElizabethCarleneStudio450.jpg

Miss Kitty
She made being a honky tonk woman
a respectable occupation
She was a beautiful strong lady ALWAYS
The women who followed her tried their best because she showed us and paved the way for all of us Honky Tonk Angels to fly and strive to be like her
Graceful and full of love for the music
she made
Never had a conversation with her but
I will always honor what she brought us girls who heard what she sang to us
Love, CC
